.28 - Gender Representation

Sports heavily falls into the lap of representing more of the male and is predicated to the male population. 

 

    Yet this doesn't restrict women to have representation as well. Although women have less viewers and popularity it is essential not only for women to get this spotlight so we can eventually reach an equilibrium.

 

Although through recent years this has started to change but female athletes on sports magazine covers are sexualized and objectified. I disagree with the sexualizing of female athletes but this helps draw more of an audience.

Male athletes however are presented as ultra masculine and larger than life figures with usually having an intense serious look. This is done to draw interest of readers to this athlete.
